Repairing Skin Barrier

This may sound like a complicated endeavor, however it’s pretty simple–and it is the most important thing for anti-aging! Whether your issue is acne, large pores, wrinkles, or anything else for that matter… the first thing you should focus on is repairing skin barrier. Think of it like this; when your skin barrier is strong your skin is able to keep good things in and bad things out. This means we can keep moisture contained within our skin cells so that we are not dehydrated. It also means we have a healthier defense system to keep harmful bacteria out. When we heal our skin in this way, the most common skin concerns and aging issues seem to vanish.

I’m including a video that I made when I decided it was time to work on my own skin barrier. This was after a breakout which was due to wearing a mask to go grocery shopping. I had not had a breakout in years, but the combination of the mask material rubbing on my cheeks and the air and CO2 being trapped around my mouth eroded my skin barrier and caused my skin to suffer. Never. Again.

The absolute best products to use for repairing skin barrier are all available on my e-Store. There are three brands that I recommend very highly including belif, Dr. Belmeur, and Mission Luxereve.

The specific routine in my video that has been working extremely well for me and for several of my customers, because it for ALL skin types, is listed here:

1. Cleanse–do not scrub or use a towel to wipe off your cleanser, the key is to massage very lightly and gently with your fingertips and splash off the cleanser with lukewarm water, and only pat dry gently with a clean towel. I recommend the belif jelly cleanser, as it is a splash off cleanser but is still hydrating. (Yes use it even for acne or oily skin!)

2. Treat–skip the toner as most of the time these are not going to help you repair your skin at all, they can actually cause more harm than good when you are working on healing. A beautiful option that I call the grown-ups version of a toner is the cica peptide ampoule. It specifically works to heal skin barrier! It also works to improve discoloration, lines and wrinkles, and even pores and acne. This is a must have product.

3. Hydrate–with a moisturizer that heals and repairs skin barrier function. Mission Luxereve, Dr Belmeur, and belif are all fantastic options! If you are particularly sensitive or inflamed with breakouts, choose one of the cica creams. In my video, I am using one of my all time favorites, the belif true cream aqua bomb! For more info on the ultra luxurious Mission Luxereve, check out this video.

4. Don’t forget your eyes! For an absolute treat, the belif eye bomb is an anti-aging balm that will solve dehydration, puffiness, and dark circles!

Special offer! You can get a travel size set of belif products in a water droplet tote for just $20! Get the cleanser, eye bomb, and both moisturizers in this exclusive set!
